Wake County will hold its first seasonal flu vaccination clinics of 2009 on Thursday, October 1, 2009, and Friday, October 2, 2009, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in Room G35 of the Public Health Center, 10 Sunnybrook Road, Raleigh. No appointment is necessary. Seasonal FluMist and pneumonia shots will also be available at these clinics.
The cost for a seasonal flu shot or seasonal FluMist is $30; the cost for a pneumonia shot is $60. Traditional Medicare Part B will cover the cost of seasonal flu and pneumonia shots. Those with Medicare should bring their Medicare cards. People with Medicare HMOs or other insurance should pay at the time of service. There is no charge for children 6 months through age 18. Pregnant women may also be eligible for a free vaccination and should ask at the time of service."
